Unboxing – Makey Makey

The Makey Makey is “An Invention Kit for Everyone!”. More specifically it is a device that lets you interact with the computer. Basically you can use the device, your knowledge of science and a wide variety of house-hold items to create a keyboard and/or mouse for your computer. Scratch (Web Version) – Hello World!

Scratch is a graphics-based programming language designed by MIT. I’ve used it many times with grade 9 and 10 students with great success. I’ve never planned an entire programming course on Scratch BUT I think a unit of study on Scratch is great exposure to programming fundamentals for students.
